Vero Beach was a great stop. Even after two years there is still a lot of hurricane damage that has not been fixed yet. How sad. Erik had a great time now that he can drive all around by himself. We rented a car so that he could use our car and go visit friends. He went to the beach with Sara and hung out with her and her friends one day. Then he visited places he used to go, South Beach, (saw manatees), Rita's Italian Ice, etc. I had a great visit over the phone with my friend, Katie. We stored our camper at their place while we were in the Keys. Then we had dinner with Paul, Cheryl, and Lyndsie Kelley. It is so wonderful and exciting to hear about and see how wonderful our children have grown. We were sad to miss the shuttle liftoff. Our second day in Vero was spent in the rain so no more beach. We did rent a kayak and Dave and I went out one time and Dave and Erik went fishing and kayaking another time. Couldn't be camped on the Indian River without a boat! We ran into some old friends, Steve and Myra, camped at Long Point also. They are doing wonderfully, enjoying the grandchildren and life! We miss all of our long time Vero friends and plan a longer visit in the future.
