On Tuesday we made a stop in Albuquerque’s Old Town district and walked around the shops. I always enjoy that. Traveling is slow and we’re using a lot of gas, I suppose due to the high wind coming out of the south and pulling our pop-up. We made it to Sumner Lake State Park on Wednesday. Again, such flat land! Sumner Lake shows signs of drought but still is a functional lake. There were only four other campers in the whole state park besides us! But there were deer wandering around, rabbits and horned toads here and there, and wind. The wind howled all
night, which is definitely felt in our pop-up camper. (We’re driving through Littlefield, Tx. right now. It’s the home town of Waylon Jennings!) Ft. Sumner is the home of the acclaimed Billy the Kid’s grave, but some dispute that claim. Bob - we went through Clovis and thought about you! Around Ft. Sumner there was a huge, beautiful wind farm. Windmills for as far as you can see! What a wonderful sight. We went from ranch land to farm land today. Hope all of you are doing great! We are.
