Luckenbach, Texas - That's all there is!6-18-06
We are definitely feeling the humidity! It rained last night – lightening and thunder. We don’t get much of that in Las Vegas, and I have really missed that. We met a really nice couple who were camping next to us at McKinny Falls State Park in Austin, TX. He’s an EMT for a little town called Wimberly, TX, and he also plays guitar in his church. He was saying how nice the town is, so today on our foray into the Hill Country we made a point to go by there. It is really nice, small, but the area around the town is really pretty and the houses are nice too. We also went through Luckenbach, Texas. It is nothing but an old post office, a hall, and a food stand. But, there were a lot of people in that little space. A bicycle group was just cycling away as we drove in. A motorcycle group was sitting on the picnic tables outside having beers, a cross country horse group was in a field working with their wagons and horses, and then there were just regular old to
urists like us milling around. I need to listen to the song again to see what it talked about in the town. It’s really pretty downhere and very green, rolling hills, rivers, lakes, nice.
