We traveled from Ft. Sumner, NM to Sweetwater, TX yesterday. Along the way we saw lots and lots of oil pumping rigs (see left). As a contrast, we also saw hundreds of wind generators lining the tops of bluffs in at least three different locations. What a beautiful site to see all of this wind put to use and how exciting to see the energy being produced. The bottom picture is from Uncle Jerry's back yard, wind mills and sun rise.

We stayed last night with Aunt Peggy and Uncle Jerry at Lake Sweetwater. But there is not much left of the lake. When they bought the lake 30+ years ago the water came right up to their back yard. Now the shore is about a mile away, a little pond in the distance. But, they now have a huge back yard that Jerry keeps mowed and has a garden down there. They are doing great at 87 years old.

We're in Dallas now. We looked at Dallas Christian College but is is very small, about 200 students. Erik finally found a mountain bike, he's been looking for some time. Tomorrow we'll head out for Austin, Tx and spend a few days exploring the "hill country" of Texas.
